Michael Silverstein - K-8 Physical Education Teacher

I am the Physical Education Teacher here at AEMS.  I grew up in Long Island, NY.  I went to the University of Vermont, where I graduated with a Business Degree.  I later attended Hofstra University for my Masters Degree in Physical Education.  My family lives in Concord, NH.  I have three children (ages 15,17, and 19).  I love participating in all different types of sports.  Growing up, I mostly played tennis, soccer, and I skied a lot.  I was also on the wrestling team and the bowling team.  I am still very active and always excited about trying new activities. Rock climbing and surfing are some of my favorite activities I learned later in my life.  When I was young, I loved to ski.  I was lucky to be able to ski at many amazing places.  Some of the unusual places I skied at were Austria, Switzerland, Canada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho.  I also love to participate in endurance races such as 5ks, half-marathons, marathons, and triathlons.  I have completed 4 marathons and three half-iron distance triathlons.  I hope to complete a full ironman triathlon in the future.  My favorite activity to stay fit during the winter is indoor soccer and Futsal.  One of my favorite ways to spend a weekend is coaching my children's indoor soccer and Futsal games.  I have two cats named "sky" and "Kit Kat."  I love most animals, but I think cats are my favorite.
