A bit about Mrs. Stanhope
I have been teaching middle school math for 20 years, going on 21 years. Wow, time sure does fly! I graduated from Shead High School in Eastport, Maine (Eastern Most City in the USA--and is also an island) and the University of Maine at Machias ,with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education grades K-8, with a concentration in math and science. I began my teaching career in 1998 at Newfound Memorial Middle School, teaching 8th grade math for seven years. I accepted my position at AEMS in 2005 and this will be my 13th year teaching math to the Middle School grades. I love my AEMS family! Teaching is, and always has been, my passion. My goal is to inspire children to love math, strive for academic excellence, and develop critical thinking and problem solving skills.
I live here in Andover and LOVE IT, but I do miss the sights and smells of living by the ocean in Maine. I am a certified Zumba Fitness Instructor and teach a few classes a week but also enjoy attending Zumba classes in the area. I love playing volleyball, walking my dog, and watching my son play sports! I also love watching The Voice, American Idol, America's Got Talent, Family Feud, and NCIS! I also had a blast the summer of 2014 traveling to Minnesota and seeing the Mall of America and the Waterpark of America!
